[Audiobook] Adachi to Shimamura (hiatus)
My first active dive into yuri media. I needed something to listen to at work and this was basically perfect. I don't remember what the catalyst was, probably some Twitter posts or YouTube videos. Either way, I binged the whole audiobook series in two weeks straight, about one volume a day (or two if I could squeeze them). But even though I made it through twelve books and the extras, volume 13 is on the horizon, getting the audiobook release in December. As for my review at this point, I enjoy the moments with Adachi and Shimamura during the highschool years the most. Hurts to say, but my brain kind of shuts off when we get a whole chapter on Hino and Nagafuji. I was also a bit disappointed that around volume 8 onwards, the main chapters felt more and more like side stories and what-ifs while the actual main story was crammed into the last 20% of the book. But luckily the extra volumes restored my faith and were quite enjoyable.
[Light Novel] Shuukura | Buying a Classmate Once a Week
This one I've seen a lot on Twitter recently. Mostly mistaking its art for AdaShima actually, because apparently yuri leads have to look the exact same across series (maybe it's just Adachi and Shimamura's different reincarnations). So with AdaShima on the waiting block, I decided to check this one out next and it's the one I'm currently reading. However, unlike with audiobooks, I'm a slow reader. I try to manage a chapter per day, but that is sometimes wishful thinking. Currently on chapter 4 as of writing this.
[Manga] A Tropical Fish Years for Snow
Completed the manga some years ago and just include it here for completeness. I hardly remember the story, just that it kinda ended meh, and in later online discussions I learned that the author explicitly doesn't call it a yuri and it's purely platonical. The German publisher actually labels the manga as Girl's Love, so there's that.
[Anime] Cosmic Princess Kaguya
Actually bought a Netflix sub just for this movie. I would say that CPK was my first actual and recent foray into yuri media, where I picked it out specifically for the yuri content (and pretty visuals). Before that you could maybe count Lycoris Recoil, but I'll leave that one out of the list, because I don't remember if I watched it for the yuri. But know that I did enjoy it. As for CPK, I watched the English dub and loved it, but with the songs being translated as well, I intend to at least watch it once more with the original dub (still recognized some of the vocaloid songs though).
[Manga] The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All
Green yuri, seen it mentioned a bunch on Twitter, and I think it got an anime adaptation recently. Didn't have initial interest because band music isn't really my thing, but I saw it in the bookstore and after checking how many volumes exist (so I don't get myself into too long of a series) I just bought the first volume.
[Light Novel] I'm in Love with the Villainess
Saw this one often mentioned as one of the best yuri media out there, and have seen a couple anime clips. In this case I was a bit prejudiced against the villainess isekai genre, but same as green yuri above, I saw it in the store and grabbed it (first two LN volumes in one). Should also mention that both green yuri and this are the German versions, which I generally avoid unless I go for physical media.
[Light Novel] MagiRevo
Actually started reading this one some years ago, but didn't finish the first volume. But in the spirit of yuri consumption, I would go back to it at some point, probably having to start from the beginning again.
